Marie-Jose van Tol (1980) studied clinical, health- and neuropsychology in Utrecht. After obtaining her PhD-degree from the Leiden Universiteit in 2011 (cum laude) on her thesis entitled ‘Mood Related Insights’, she worked as a post-doc in the cognitive neuropsychiatry lab of dr. Andre Aleman (UMCG) and in the Clinical Affective Neuroimaging Laboratory of the Leibniz Institute of Neurobiology (Magdeburg, Germany). In 2014 she was awarded a VENI grant and a Hersenstichting Fellowship for her research on understanding the neurocognitive underpinnings of relapse and relapse prevention in major depressive disorder.
